Jack was a trailblazer in transformational education, an approach that aims to fundamentally transform how individuals understand the world and their place in it through emphasizing personal, relational, and spiritual growth. Jack was one of the founders ofest, an organization that had over a million participants in the 1970s and 1980s, which laid the groundwork for a global revolution in personal development.

He has continued to help people fall in love—with themselves, with life, and with each other—and step into fuller, more authentic beings.

At 94 years young, Jack was still teaching, still creating, still transforming lives.

However, as anyone who has dedicated their life to service knows, carrying forward a legacy like this takes a village—and requires resources.

Why We’re Asking for Your Help

A small, devoted group of Jack’s supporters, friends, and colleagues formed The Jack Rafferty Foundation, Inc. with him in 2025, a US-based nonprofit 501(c)(3)public benefit corporation . Our mission is to ensure Jack’s teachings reach far beyond any one book, single workshop or seminar room.

The Jack Rafferty Foundation urgently needs your support to fulfill its mission to:

1. Support Jack’s Health & Wellness

For the past five years, Jack had been dealing with late-stage prostate cancer with the same determination and grace that he’s brought to his teaching. Up until his last breath, he remained active, writing, mentoring, and designing his legacy projects.

Jack spent his life in service to others and lived modestly, as any zen master might have lived in Southern and Northern California – just loving a lot of sushi, spicy Mexican food and Osso Buca. And up until early this summer, he resided in his Westwood apartment with a roommate visiting frequently with his many loving friends.

2. Support Jack’s Literary and Professional Projects

Jack finished writing his seminal work in early July: a book tentatively entitled Emergence—a culmination of his decades of teaching on love, relationships, and human connection. He was also preparing workshops and training new leaders to carry this work forward. Jack was also in the early stages of becoming an emerging social media content creator.

Your support will help cover:

• Writing, editing, and publishing costs

• Distribution of the book and his teachings

• Training future program leaders to ensure Jack’s work continues beyond his lifetime

• Development of future seminars and workshops

• Costs related to social media and content creation (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, TedTalks, film projects, etc.)

3. Preserve and Expand Jack’s Legacy for Future Generations

We seek to extend Jack’s teachings beyond his lifetime, inspiring the next generation of:

• Leaders and educators

• Professional coaches, counselors, and therapists

• Young people and seniors from underserved communities

… and anyone else who can benefit from transformational, relationship-based learning

We Will Do This By:

• Offering scholarships to individuals who otherwise might not be able to afford to attend any workshop or program aligned with the foundation’s purpose

• Building programs for young people, seniors, and professionals who want to be of service and expand their emotional, relational, and spiritual potential

• Digitally preserving Jack’s teachings in multiple languages through book sales and charitable donations, so his work can continue to serve people worldwide
